Rebuilding from the Ashes

In the grim world of Embers of the Uncrowned, elven invaders shattered House Harborwell in a single treacherous night. As the illegitimate child and rightful heir, you return to Goldenhaven to reignite the last ember of hope. The House system is not just a base building feature. It is the living heart of your legacy, your path to power, and your strategic foundation for survival and conquest.

Through careful construction of buildings, wise assignment of followers, and the awakening of ancient Bloodline powers, you transform a ruined settlement into a thriving stronghold. Every choice echoes through your journey across the war torn continent of Rinea.

The Seven Pillars of Your Settlement

Construct and upgrade seven core building types to unlock the full range of activities that support your rise. Each building serves a distinct purpose and grows stronger as you raise your overall House Level.

House HQ

The core building for overall House growth. Upgrading the House HQ allows you to further upgrade other buildings. Upgrade the House HQ by increasing your House Level.

Forge

Enhance Gear through Followers assigned to the Forge. Enhancing Gear consumes enhancement materials, which can be obtained through hunting or the Trading Post shop. Upgrading the Forge allows you to enhance Gear to higher grades.

Trading Post

Assign Followers to purchase items or exchange gathered resources for other items. Upgrading allows you to Trade. Unlock Trade Points through region liberation. Each Trade Point offers different items.

Resource Station

Assign Followers to gather resources. When a region is liberated, Gathering Points activate and Followers gather automatically. There are four resource types. The number of simultaneous Gathering Points is determined by the upgrade level.

Magic Laboratory

Assign Followers to research recovery potions or craft elixirs. Potion research increases your potion capacity and recovery effects. Elixirs grant various beneficial effects for a set duration.

Workshop

Assign Followers to craft Skill Gems. Upgrading allows you to craft higher grade Skill Gems that enhance your combat capabilities.

Stable

Assign Followers to register and switch between acquired Mounts. Summon your Mount by clicking the Mount icon or pressing its hotkey for faster travel across the dangerous lands.

Followers: The Living Workforce of Your House

Followers are the key to activating and powering your buildings. When you open the assignment window for a building (like the Blacksmith shown below), each follower shows a number underneath their portrait — this number is the gold cost to assign them to that building. In the current demo, most followers show a cost of 300 gold.

Strategic Tips for House Success

  • Prioritize House HQ upgrades first
Higher House Levels are the gateway to stronger buildings across your entire settlement. Invest House Points here early to accelerate all other progression paths.
  • Liberate regions to activate passive gathering
Resource Station only shines after liberation. Focus on story and exploration goals that open new regions so your followers can begin automatic resource collection around the clock.
  • Balance follower assignments across key buildings
Do not overload a single building. Spread your followers to keep crafting, gathering, research, and enhancement all running. This creates a healthy resource loop for sustained growth.
  • Match Bloodline boards to your combat style
Attack focused boards reward aggressive players. Defense boards suit tankier approaches. Experiment in the demo to see which node paths feel best for your preferred weapons and playstyle.
  • Use Magic Laboratory elixirs for tough content
The temporary buffs from crafted elixirs can turn the tide in challenging fights or help you push higher level content while your gear and Bloodline are still developing.
