Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Everything you need to know before the June 15 demo. Official answers on combat, co op, progression, PvP, classes, companions and more for the new isometric dark fantasy MMORPG from the devs.

The Embers Are About to Ignite

The countdown has begun. On June 15 during Steam Next Fest, Embers of the Uncrowned opens its first playable demo to the world. This dark fantasy isometric action MMORPG puts you in the role of the illegitimate child of the fallen House Harborwell. An elven invasion shattered your house. Now you must reclaim the continent and drive the invaders back.

Combat is built on manual skill and timing. There is no auto combat. You combine basic attacks with powerful skills, dodge incoming danger, and watch for the perfect moment when a boss stagger gauge breaks open for massive burst damage. Resource management and smart skill builds still matter, but the pacing and density of fights feel fresh and intense.

Combat System and Controls

Demo Content Party Sizes at a Glance

PvE, Endgame and Progression

Endgame rewards will come through Raid and PvE content. There will be no rewards locked exclusively behind PvP.

  • Will there be a pity system or pure farming for endgame gear?

Endgame progression centers on gear farming and enhancement plus Skill Gems that upgrade your skills. Your House growth raises your enhancement cap, so managing your House and farming resources go hand in hand. Higher tier Skill Gems drop from higher difficulty Raids. Each skill tag offers different options and combinations create real build variety.

  • How deep is the skill and talent system?

The Talent System acts as your skill tree. Developing traits can unlock new skills or completely change the properties and form of existing ones. Skill Gem combinations further shape efficiency and direction. Each class has two main skill trees rooted in different properties. Passive skills must be actively equipped. The team encourages you to try multiple classes and growth paths in the demo.

  • Will there be daily or weekly quests?

Some daily missions exist in the demo, but they are light. Play at your own pace during the demo period.

PvP, Guilds and Open World Conflict

The demo includes both PvE and PvP content, but with clear boundaries.

  • What PvP and guild content is in the demo?

You can fight World Bosses with other players. The Arena offers 2 versus 2 instanced PvP with matchmaking. There is no open world PvP in the demo. Guild systems are planned for global launch.

  • Is gear equalized in PvP?

In the demo PvP happens only in the Arena. It is a separate instanced zone with no penalty for losing. Your equipped gear provides base stats, but an adjustment system significantly narrows the gap between players.

  • Is there forced PvP or open world PvP?

No. PvE rewards are never locked behind PvP. Open world PvP design is still in development. The current plan keeps it in clearly separated zones so only players who want PvP participate.
